A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT:

 Dear Members of St John,

As President of St. John’s Lutheran Church, I am writing to inform you that we are preparing to enter the call process for a half-time pastor. As part of this process, we will be forming a Call Committee. We are seeking two congregational members to serve alongside council representatives on this committee. If you are interested in serving, please let Beth know by the second Sunday after Easter.

Additionally, as a council, we value your insight and would appreciate your input as we begin this important journey. We invite you to share your thoughts on the idea of starting the call process, as well as to reflect on any or all of the following questions:

  • What key issues or concerns of our church and society are reflected in your ministry context?
  • How do your stewardship practices reflect your priorities?
  • In what ways is your congregation or ministry similar or different from the community where it is located? Identify and explain three significant formative events in your history??
  • How is the congregation or ministry involved in the larger church and ecumenical/interreligious relationships?
  • Has your ministry experienced significant conflict and what did you learn? You may wish to include how the congregation handles conflict.
  • Anything related to the physical building.

Your feedback will help guide us as we move forward thoughtfully and prayerfully.Thank you for your continued dedication and service to St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Sincerely,

Chris Brandt

President, St. John’s Lutheran Church
